Still having night time temps in the low signal digits. Have to bring in the early potted up dahlias. Lots of rain. Everything is growing and so far the only winter kill has been the rosemary, which was pushing it. Not exactly rosemary climate.
We keep getting a taste of better weather, then no. Yesterday had it all, rain, snow, sun, wind. I’m out there daily poking around. Great to see last year’s new acquisitions are coming back.
Got an early start before yoga with Carole and headed to Fiesta Farms Garden Centre on Tuesday. Had a few things in mind. What i got was two Mayapples (Podophyllum peltatum), a Trillium grandiflorum, Wild Ginger (Asrum canadense), Hidcote English Lavender (Lavandula augustifolia ‘Hidcote Blue’ and dianthus.
My mum was a dianthus fan and shes been on my mind this week. She’s been gone five years now. I love the cinnamon fragrance.
