The Cornus Venus is in bloom. Each a great size but few and far between. Last year blooms were uncountable. This year 30 tops.
Pinched out all the new apple tips in an attempt to encourage fruit buds. And there are hints at what could be pears – for squirrels.

These get some hours of direct sun but are an understory shrub, so some shade for sure.
