Halloween tomatoes

And not even the end of them. Still picking cherry tomatoes. Crazy mild weather. No real signs of frost damage in the garden yet.

Got another 55 daffodils in the ground. The forecast has a decent amount of rain tonight and tomorrow and 40% of showers every day next week. I didn’t water them in, but will if the rain doesn’t come.

I have started putting the terracotta pots into the shed. And a bunch of winter prep to go, more pots and the cushions. So glad I downscaled this year!

Another heat wave

Let’s talk humidity. Guess we could have kept calling it Global Warming after all.

Cut back a complete cornstalk on the roof. The silk had started to turn brown and the cobs were barely starting. I couldn’t keep up with the amount of water four corn plants needed. I could be watering on the rooftop twice a day. Not happening. One year I will get a proper water hook up for there.

Tomatoes at last.

On the plate
On the vine

Ken picked the first ripe one. Thankfully, cause I went out looking for it and it was gone. Damn squirrel, oops, husband.

Still planting and potting

Still planting and potting. Enjoyed the winter sown spinach so had new space in the raised box bed on the terrace. So I planted things we eat.

Potted on the rose and the lavender transplants today. An odd combination I think, but they had to get out of their nursery pots. Still have tomatoes to pot and now that the sumac’s are bursting out, have to give them some attention. And of course, more plants to divide.

Typical early June weather. Decent rain. Heat dome on the way.

The Sage is in bloom and bees love it

Tomatoes are all looking sturdy and have needed minor pruning, mostly to get the lower leaves off the ground and remove some side shoots. First blooms and fruit.

Cucumbers are hit and miss, something is eating the beans as they come up and the peas are all pathetic. I think I’ve got too much straw mulch down and have suffocated the soil.? It’s time to empty the composter and move it. So much fun!
