What’s another 20 …or 40 more daffodils?

I keep thinking that the season is over. Planted about 30 cloves of garlic on the 3rd: 10 from East End Garden Centre and the day of planting I grabbed a big head of garlic from Peru at the grocery store. Surprises and delights to be revealed in July. That said I still have two stalks of Brussel sprouts in the veg garden getting frosty delicious.

The furniture is wrapped and ready for winter. Citrus plants have been moved inside and need some serious attention. Started repotting today. A lot of dead roots.

Just harvested the pineapple – images in reversed order. It was truly amazing when it was in bloom.

Oh yes, did get those 40 new daffodils in! Hope to see them in early April. About 135 days from now 🤞

And started the Master Gardener training program. V. Excited. More on that later.

Wild weather – from super hot and humid and back again

Everything is growing gang busters, just hoping things ripen before the squirrels find out. Tomatoes are gorgeous and the hazelnuts have never been fuller.

Peas and beans are just starting to blossom and cucumbers are now about two feet tall. Nipped the first blossoms off one of the cukes cause they were to close to the soil.

The Brussel sprouts and broccoli look pretty good for being so tightly planted. Started taking the heads off the outer plants I could easily access to see what happens.

Picked six green peppers over two days! Not a lot of recipes seem to feature green peppers.
