First light frost last night. The poppy seeds I planted late have given one last blush of summer.

A great day of rain today. A proper soaking before the leaves start to fall.

Started removing excess fruit. So beautiful
Tomatoes are coming thick and fast. Been a dry summer with about half or less normal rainfall. Lots of heat and humidity.

Summer colour

Mind you, we only got half our average rainfall in June. But other than a couple of hot spells, weather wise, it’s been excellent.

My time of the year! Lots to see and lots to do in the garden. Love it

They’re perfect this year and the fragrance from this old tree! A warm snap sped them up.
Planted bush beans and cucumbers today potted on the lemon verbena and red bergamot from Richters. My order arrived yesterday. Live plants in the mail! The Beth root / red trillium has gone in by the Sycamore. Why did I buy dragon’s blood clover? Put it in a pot for now.

A good spring rain last night. Enough to tip over some of the daffodils and give everything a good soaking. Azaleas are starting to open. Apple blossoms are next.

The weather is starting to warm up. Daffodils are opening, the apple trees are breaking bud, haskaps have first signs of blossoms. One acanthus is peaking out from the mulch. Exciting.
