It never stops, but the garden is looking amazing. Nothing at all when you put in three hours a day or more.

Really truly have everything planted. Carrot seeds went in today along with some more oak-leaf lettuce. It is supposed to rain tomorrow which is needed even after such a wet spring.

The peach has some minor leaf curl mainly on one branch. I’ve been pulling off the infected leaves. Ants have started farming aphids one the columnar Apple trees. The boxwoods have had one round of the leaf curl bug, through washing, insecticidal soap and manual shaking I reduced the overall impact. It takes a lot to stay on top of it.

Ken just finished putting the swing together. Yeah!

Got almost all the planting done last Friday. Put in the last of the cotton seeds today and also started the jalapeños. The four girls are in Northern lights green crack and one special one from my plantsman

I got potatoes in, the asparagus in, lettuce is in as well as marigolds, snow peas and the Arctic kiwis. Had a major thunderstorm on the weekend so everything got a major natural watering.

Cold and rainy today.

Did a great job in the garden yesterday.

Put in the new Apple tree on the north wall of number 12, moved the pear whip from the veg bed to the fence between us and Brian in the rear of #14.

Got the fingering potatoes in from Vesey’s Asparagus and acanthus were planted earlier in the week. Planted the goji berries and the new female seabuckthorn in the fruiting hedge on #14. The kiwi are in, two female and a male. Had to really dig through the hops roots. It has taken really well, I’m a little afraid. Reseeded half the lawn and spread around eight bags of horse manure from Liz. Also mixed peat moss in with the top soil Kevin dropped off, so have a few bags of potting soil ready

Used the Alfalfa Gold from Whiffletree in all the planting holes this time.

Have more than 30 daffodils up and another dozen still to open. Julie’s magnolia is in full flower and just starting to lose petals. Ferns are up, about a foot close to the house, as small as 4 inches elsewhere.

The columnar apples that I just put in pots in the ground 2 years ago have buds on every spur, conversely almost nothing on the six in the yard. Go figure.

The forecast was shite, instead it was a gorgeous day. Cleaned up the rear of 84 all the way to the parking pad. I did nothing back there last year and it doesn’t look half bad. Hacked back the honeysuckle last week it is now just starting to leaf out. The Haskaps are just showing their flowering bits. Daffodils should break any day now. Spring is here! Inside the loofahs are getting true leaves. Started cotton again, only 3 germinated. The rest of the cotton seeds rotted in the potting soil. Insert said face.

Actually a nice spring day. Put bulbs in the front urns. Home Depot had a drop-in bucket of bulbs for sale. $16.98 so two should give a nice hit of spring in the front. I did see one crocus and a few narcissus that have emerged about 2 cm.

Started seeds. Cotton, luffa, basil and marigolds. Exciting.

These little gems had started to sprout, so I put eight in a beer carrier with some soil and set it up in the basement window. Let’s see what happens.

I couldn’t help myself. I had some time today and so out I went with pruners in hand. Did a little bit of find pruning around some boxwoods. Trimmed out some curled or infected leaves. The boxwood leaf miner is really trying to settle in. Ground is frozen solid. Intermittent sun, about 10 degrees.
